Lack of personality (continued)

There is too much of the “we’ll get them next week” mentality among youngsters in the sport. Like I said, NASCAR’s rules don’t help, but name me a situation where the new generation has really shown their personalities.

Aside of Chase Elliott last season at Martinsville Speedway, we haven’t seen any sort of aggression or passion out of younger superstars. Heck, it took Elliott getting dumped for even him to show some color.

More from NASCAR

All I’m saying is that many of the drivers of this new generation just don’t seem to have the swagger and aggressiveness that the old schoolers had. As a fan, I want to see my driver for who he truly is. Speak up, toughen up, and let them know who’s boss.

Enough of this riding around, “we’ll get them next time” sort of narrative. Let’s get back to the old days of racing. I want bent fenders and hurt feelings. It shouldn’t take the older drivers getting mad at one another for there to be true rivalries and confrontations in the sport.

We need drama, so drivers, let’s quit with the silence and get to being the aggressive drivers y’all were raised to be!
