Qualifying for the final race of the 2018 NASCAR Cup Series regular season, the Big Machine Vodka 400 at the Brickyard, has been canceled.
As has been the case many times so far in the 2018 NASCAR Cup Series season, rain has affected the weekend schedule. However, the effects of rain on this weekend’s race schedule appear like they will end up being some of the most dramatic effects of the year.
Qualifying for the 26th and final race of the Cup Series regular season, the Big Machine Vodka 400 at the Brickyard, more commonly known as the Brickyard 400, has been canceled. It was initially scheduled to get underway at 6:15 p.m. ET this evening.
This means that that the 40 drivers who are set to compete in the 160-lap race around the four-turn, 2.5-mile (4.023-kilometer) Indianapolis Motor Speedway oval in Speedway, Indiana will line up by the owner points of the cars that they are driving.
