Christopher Bell (continued)

As a result, it may be smart for Joe Gibbs Racing to promote Christopher Bell from the Xfinity Series to the Cup Series next year to prevent him from being signed by another team.

It isn’t like Bell is a 19-year-old prospect, either. He is set to turn 24 in December, so promoting him to the Cup Series at this point in his career would certainly not be “rushing” him in any way, shape or form.

Just like the possibility of re-signing Daniel Suarez, this possibility likely only exists if Joe Gibbs Racing form a technical alliance with Leavine Family Racing like many people expect that they will do.

If this technical alliance happens, Martin Truex Jr., who will undoubtedly sign with Joe Gibbs Racing as the driver of the #19 Toyota if it doesn’t seeing as how there is pretty much no way he will remain unsigned for next season, could drive what would become the #95 Leavine Family Racing Toyota, which is currently the #95 Chevrolet driven by Kasey Kahne, as opposed to the #19 Toyota.

After all, Truex Jr. has driven the #78 Chevrolet-turned-#78 Toyota for Furniture Row Racing ever since they formed their technical alliance with Joe Gibbs Racing ahead of the 2016 season. He has not driven for Joe Gibbs Racing themselves.

If this happens, it could open the door for Bell’s Cup Series career to begin.
