2nd and 1st

2nd: Kyle Busch

Kyle Busch sits second on this list, not because of a lack of results, but because he’s just a step behind my number one driver at two of the next three race tracks on the schedule.

Busch’s job is easy the next few weeks; don’t have a collapse. He has a 47-point advantage over the round of 8 drivers, which means a solid finish on Sunday in the race at Dover International Speedway could put him an entire race’s worth of points ahead of his competition.

As long as Busch’s doesn’t fall victim to the “big one” at Talladega Superspeedway, it should be an easy round for the current point leader. It’s the second quarter and he’s up by three touchdown. Now he just needs to take it to halftime.

1st: Kevin Harvick

More from NASCAR Cup Series

Kevin Harvick sits number one on my list for the round of 12 because of his finishes earlier this season. In case you forgot, he won the races at both Dover International Speedway and Kansas Speedway, races that were back-to-back in the regular season.

My only concern with Harvick is that he has seemingly disappeared in the playoffs thus far. Of course, this means he is due to win a race or two to completely cement himself in front of the playoff picture once again.

Just like Busch, Harvick can basically make the next round with three wheels considering the fact that he has a 42-point lead over ninth place driver Chase Elliott. If he can just finish in the top half of the field in each of the three round of 12 races,he’ll easily slip into the round of 8.

Thanks for reading, folks. I hope you enjoy this weekend’s events at Dover International Speedway! Best of luck to your favorite driver. See you next time!
