Daniel Suarez

At this point, Daniel Suarez is the most likely candidate to drive the #41 Stewart-Haas Racing Ford as Kurt Busch’s replacement in the 2019 NASCAR Cup Series season, and this has been the case for quite some time.

Suarez had been speculated to lose his ride behind the wheel of the #19 Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota for next season when it was revealed that Furniture Row Racing, the team that have had a technical partnership with Joe Gibbs Racing since the 2016 season, will be shutting down following the conclusion of the 2018 season.

More from NASCAR Cup Series

It was rumored and has since been confirmed that Furniture Row Racing’s Martin Truex Jr., who has driven the #78 Toyota since the 2014 season (#78 Chevrolet in the 2014 season and 2015 season), is set to replace Suarez behind the wheel of the #19 Toyota beginning in the 2019 season.

ARRIS will likely continue to sponsor Suarez even with him set to leave Joe Gibbs Racing following this season, so he could very well likely end up continuing to drive for a top-tier team in Stewart-Haas Racing despite the fact that he has not had much success in his first 71 races driving the #19 Toyota.

That said, when it comes to the other young drivers who are in the mix to replace Busch behind the wheel of the #41 Ford for next season, the Xfinity Series resume of the 26-year-old Mexican, which includes the 2016 championship, is as good as if not better than the Xfinity Series resumes of these others, and his experience in the Cup Series shouldn’t hurt his case, either.
