#6 through #4

#6. . No. 10. Aston Martin Red Bull Racing, Honda. PIERRE GASLY

After an impressive first full season in Formula 1 driving for Toro Rosso, Pierre Gasly is set to replace Daniel Ricciardo at Red Bull Racing beginning in the 2019 season. While the move to one of Formula 1’s three top-tier teams may take some adjusting for the 22-year-old Frenchman, the fact that he is set to enter the season having already spent a full season driving a Honda-powered car could play to his advantage in what is set to be Red Bull Racing’s first season using Honda engines.

#5. . No. 77. Mercedes-AMG Petronas Motorsport, Mercedes. VALTTERI BOTTAS

Valtteri Bottas will be hungry for a breakout season in 2019 season after a disappointing season during which multiple factors in multiple races prevented him from winning even one race. However, the front of the field is set to be loaded with drivers who have a legitimate chance to win the championship, and Bottas has not shown that he has what it takes to contend for victories on a regular basis.

No. 5. Scuderia Ferrari, Ferrari. SEBASTIAN VETTEL. #4.

Sebastian Vettel threw away a boatload of points throughout the course of the 2018 season, and this likely cost him a chance to compete for the championship. He has been very mistake-prone over the past two seasons, and both of these seasons resulted in him finishing in second place in the driver standings. But if he cannot fix this, he likely won’t even finish this high for a third consecutive season, as the drivers on sport’s top three teams could all very well be championship contenders in 2019.
