The offseason has flown by faster than NASCAR stock cars on the Talladega back-stretch! The Daytona 500 is just around the corner, and it’s finally prediction time! Don’t miss my first round of predictions for the 2019 NASCAR Cup Series season!

Hear ye, hear ye, NASCAR family! The Daytona 500 is on its way! With the unofficial start of the 2019 NASCAR Cup Series season coming this Sunday, February 10 in the form of the Advance Auto Parts Clash, the “Great American Race” is just over one week away!

The offseason is now behind us, and it’s time for one of my favorite topics to write about: predictions.

Over the last couple of years, predictions have become one of the most enjoyable parts of my race season. Last season was rough, as I only correctly predicted four of my traditional 10 picks for the season. No matter my tough luck, I won’t let it stop me from looking into my crystal ball for the 2019 season!

Just like in years past, I will split my predictions into two categories. The first of which will be what I call easy predictions, which is what you will read today. These easy predictions are things that aren’t hard to imagine occurring but also aren’t guaranteed.

Part two will include bold predictions. These will consist of predictions that are edgy and aren’t obvious opinions. Those will be fun for 2019, but you’ll have to wait until next week!

Now, let’s get to predicting! Obviously anything can happen over the course of a season, but some things are predictable if things work as they should. What’s great for us race fans is that things don’t always work as they should, which means we must watch the season in its entirety to see if our educated guesses hold any weight in mid-November.

Let’s get to it!
