NASCAR Cup Series: Kurt Busch to provide tickets for military members, veterans in 2019

Kurt Busch is set to provide 100 tickets for each NASCAR Cup Series race to military members and veterans over the course of the 2019 season.

A total of 36 races are on the 2019 NASCAR Cup Series schedule, which is scheduled to begin this Sunday, February 17 with the Daytona 500 at Daytona International Speedway and is scheduled to run through Sunday, November 17 with the Ford EcoBoost 400 at Homestead-Miami Speedway.

For each of these 36 races, 2004 Cup Series champion Kurt Busch is set to give away 100 tickets to military members and veterans, meaning that he is set to give away a total of 3,600 tickets to Cup Series races from now through mid-November.

This ticket giveaway is known as the “KB100 Ticket Giveaway”, and it is set to operate as a result of a partnership with Veterans Tickets Foundation.

Here is what the 40-year-old Las Vegas, Nevada native had to say about this act of generosity, according to NBC Sports.

"“I am appreciative of the sacrifice and commitment of our military service members and families. Family is what NASCAR is all about and I hope this experience at the track will be an enjoyable and fun-filled event.”"

Busch is set to enter his first season driving the #1 Chip Ganassi Racing Chevrolet after spending each of the last five seasons driving for Stewart-Haas Racing. The 2019 season is set to be his 20th season as a Cup Series driver and his 19th season as a full-time Cup Series driver.

Over the course of his Cup Series career, Busch has competed in a total of 648 races. He has earned 30 victories, 137 top five finishes, 280 top 10 finishes and 27 pole positions in these 648 races. He has led 9,521 of the 182,779 laps that he has completed, and he has recorded an average starting position of 14.6 and an average finishing position of 16.4.
