Formula E: Pascal Wehrlein takes pole for 2019 Mexico City ePrix

Mahindra Racing’s Pascal Wehlein took the pole position for the fourth race of the 2018-2019 Formula E season, the Mexico City ePrix.

Mahindra Racing’s Pascal Wehlein became the fourth different driver to take a pole position through the first four races of the 13-race 2018-2019 Formula E season, as he took the pole position for the Mexico City ePrix at Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez.

Wehrlein took this pole position, which is the first pole position of his Formula E career, by recording a top lap time of 59.347 seconds (78.858 miles per hour) around the 18-turn, 1.300-mile (2.092-kilometer) Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez road course in Mexico City, Mexico during the Super Pole qualifying session in his #94 Spark-Mahindra.

Audi Sport ABT Schaeffler’s Lucas di Grassi is set to start the race alongside Wehrlein on the front row in second place in his #11 Spark-Audi.

Venturi’s Felipe Massa, Nissan e.dams’ Oliver Rowland and BMW i Andretti Motorsport’s Antonio Felix da Costa are set to round out the top five on the starting grid after qualifying in third, fourth and fifth place in their #19 Spark-Venturi, #22 Spark-Nissan and #28 Spark-BMW, respectively.

Nissan e.dams’ Sebastien Buemi was the other driver who advanced to the Super Pole qualifying session. He is set to start the race in sixth place in his #23 Spark-Nissan.

BMW i Andretti Motorsport’s Alexander Sims, DS Techeetah’s Jean-Eric Vergne, Venturi’s Edoardo Mortara and NIO’s Oliver Turvey are set to round out the top 10 on the starting grid after qualifying in seventh, eighth, ninth and 10th place in their #27 Spark-BMW, #25 Spark-DS Automobiles, #48 Spark-Venturi and #16 Spark-NIO, respectively.
