NASCAR Xfinity Series: Michael Annett wins 2019 NASCAR Racing Experience 300

Michael Annett earned the first victory of his NASCAR Xfinity Series career and the first victory of his NASCAR career by winning the 2019 Xfinity Series season opener, the NASCAR Racing Experience 300, at Daytona International Speedway.
In his 230th career NASCAR Xfinity Series start and his 345th career NASCAR start, JR Motorsports’ Michael Annett earned his first career Xfinity Series and NASCAR victory by winning the 2019 Xfinity Series season opener, the NASCAR Racing Experience 300, at Daytona International Speedway.
Annett, who started the 120-lap race around the four-turn, 2.5-mile (4.023-kilometer) high-banked Daytona International Speedway oval in Daytona Beach, Florida in third place in his #1 Chevrolet, won it by 0.116 seconds over teammate Justin Allgaier, who finished in second in his #7 Chevrolet.
Richard Childress Racing’s Tyler Reddick took the pole position for the race, but he was sent to rear of the field for the start of the race due to an unapproved tire change that his team had to make since one of his tires was leaking air.

As a result, Joe Gibbs Racing’s Jeffrey Earnhardt started the race from the pole position in his #18 Toyota and Annett technically started it in second place.
Joe Gibbs Racing’s Brandon Jones finished only 0.099 seconds behind Allgaier in third place in his #19 Toyota, making him the race’s highest finishing Toyota driver. RSS Racing’s Ryan Sieg finished in fourth in his #39 Chevrolet while Team Penske’s Austin Cindric finished in fifth in his #22 Ford, making him the race’s highest finishing Ford driver.
Joe Gibbs Racing’s Christopher Bell, RSS Racing’s Jeff Green, GMS Racing’s John Hunter Nemechek, Reddick and JR Motorsports’ Chase Elliott rounded out the top 10 by finishing in sixth, seventh, eighth, ninth and 10th place in their #20 Toyota, #93 Chevrolet, #23 Chevrolet, #2 Chevrolet and #8 Chevrolet, respectively.
The race featured a total of 12 lead changes among nine drivers. Aside of Annett, who led more laps than anybody else in the field with 45 laps led, eight drivers led at least one lap of the race. Those drivers were Jones, Cindric, Bell, Reddick, Ross Chastain, Earnhardt, Justin Haley and Brandon Brown. Haley won stage one and Chastain won stage two.
In the first 229 Xfinity Series starts of his career, Annett led 67 of the 39,887 laps that he completed. In the final 45 laps of this race, he led 45 laps.
The race featured a total of four caution flag periods, of which two took place as a result of on-track incidents and two took place as a result of the endings of stages one and two. Of the 38 drivers who started the race, 35 finished it.
