Kyle Busch earned his first victory of the 2019 NASCAR Truck Series season by dominating the season’s second race, the Ultimate Tailgating 200, at Atlanta Motor Speedway.

Kyle Busch Motorsports’ Kyle Busch earned his first victory of the 2019 NASCAR Truck Series season in what is the first of five scheduled starts throughout the 23-race season, as he won the Ultimate Tailgating 200 at Atlanta Motor Speedway. This victory is the 52nd of his Truck Series career, making him the all-time winningest driver in series history.

Busch, who started the 130-lap race around the four-turn, 1.54-mile (2.478-kilometer) high-banked Atlanta Motor Speedway oval in Hampton Georgia in seventh place, won it by 0.932 seconds in his #51 Toyota over ThorSport Racing’s Johnny Sauter, who finished in second in his #13 Ford.

ThorSport Racing’s Grant Enfinger rounded out the top three by finishing in third place in his #98 Ford. GMS Racing’s Brett Moffitt was the highest finishing Chevrolet driver of the race, as he finished in fourth in his #24 Chevrolet. Niece Motorsports’ Ross Chastain, Hattori Racing Enterprises’ Austin Hill, who started the race from the pole position, Kyle Busch Motorsports teammates Harrison Burton and Todd Gilliland, and Niece Motorsports’ Timothy Peters rounded out the top 10 by finishing in sixth, seventh, eighth, ninth and 10th place in their #45 Chevrolet, #16 Toyota, #18 Toyota, #4 Toyota and #44 Chevrolet, respectively.

The race featured a total of 10 lead changes among six drivers. Aside of Busch, who led more laps than anybody else in the field with 92 laps led, five drivers led at least one lap of the race. Those drivers were Sauter, Enfinger, Rhodes, Burton and Matt Crafton. Busch won both stages one and two.

The race also featured six caution flag periods for 30 laps. Of these six caution flag periods, two took place as a result of the endings of stages one and two while the other four took place as a result of on-track incidents. The race also featured a red flag period for moisture, although it began as a result of a track cleanup that took place during the race’s final caution flag period.

All but six of the 32 drivers who started the race finished it, and all but three of the 26 drivers who finished it finished it on the lead lap.
