8. Corvette C7.R

The Corvette C7.R has been a part of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Series since 2014. Since its entry into the series, it has been one of the most dominant cars in the GT Le Mans class.

The Corvette C7.R has entered 66 races and has won 16 of them. The car has also won the constructor championship and the driver championship in both of the last two years.

The 2019 IMSA season is the last for the Corvette C7.R, so it will be interesting to see how it holds up against the updated GTLM field this season.

But if Corvette has the kind of season that they are accustomed to having, which would include winning the championships, it will be very hard to say that the Corvette C7.R isn’t the best GTLM car since Grand-Am and the American Le Mans Series merged.

7. Porsche 911 Carrera RSR

The Porsche 911 Carrera RSR raced from 1973 through 1975. The car competed in three different series during its time of production, and it was very successful in each one. It competed in Europe in the European GT Championship, Trans-Am and the IMSA GT Championship. The car had a tremendous amount of success in North America.

The Porsche 911 Carrera RSR won the IMSA GT Championship three years in a row and the Trans-Am championship two years in a row. These championship runs included a 24 Hours of Daytona victory.

This car was one of the most successful IMSA GT cars of all-time, and the Porsche 911 RSR name is still being represented well in today’s IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship field with two factory-backed Porsches in the GTLM class.
