NASCAR Cup Series Driver Power Rankings after 2019 Pennzoil 400
By Asher Fair
Following the third race of the 2019 NASCAR Cup Series season, the Pennzoil 400, how do the sport’s 32 full-time drivers stack up against one another?
After Team Penske’s Brad Keselowski won the second race of the 36-race 2019 NASCAR Cup Series season, the Folds of Honor QuikTrip 500, at Atlanta Motor Speedway last Sunday, teammate Joey Logano joined him on the short list of winners so far this season by winning the season’s third race, the Pennzoil 400 presented by Jiffy Lube, at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
Logano’s victory in the 267-lap race around the four-turn, 1.5-mile (2.414-kilometer) high-banked Las Vegas Motor Speedway oval in Las Vegas, Nevada made him the third different driver to win a race through the season’s first three races.
This was not the case last season, as after Richard Childress Racing’s Austin Dillon won the season opener, Stewart-Haas Racing’s Kevin Harvick went on to win the next two (in fact, the next three) races. Meanwhile, Joe Gibbs Racing’s Denny Hamlin won this year’s season opener, the 61st annual Daytona 500, at Daytona International Speedway.
How did the action from Las Vegas Motor Speedway affect the NASCAR Cup Series Driver Power Rankings? Here are the non-formulated NASCAR Cup Series Driver Power Rankings following the third race of the season.
