Kyle Busch earned his second NASCAR Xfinity Series victory in two attempts so far this season by winning the iK9 Service Dog 200 at ISM Raceway.

Joe Gibbs Racing’s Kyle Busch has competed in two of the four races that have been contested so far in the 2019 NASCAR Xfinity Series season, and he has won them both. He earned his second victory of the season by winning the iK9 Service Dog 200 at ISM Raceway.

This victory is the 94th victory of Busch’s Xfinity Series career, and it is the 198th victory of his NASCAR career, as he has also earned 51 career Cup Series victories and 53 career Truck Series victories. His career Xfinity Series and Truck Series win totals are both all-time records in their respective series.

Busch, who started the 200-lap race around the four-turn, 1.022-mile (1.645-kilometer) ISM Raceway oval in Avondale, Arizona in third place in his #18 Toyota, won it by 3.025 seconds over JR Motorsports’ Ryan Truex, who finished in second in his #8 Chevrolet. Richard Childress Racing’s Tyler Reddick finished in third in his #2 Chevrolet.

Stewart-Haas Racing’s Cole Custer was the highest finishing Ford driver of the race. He finished in fourth place in his #00 Ford. Ford drivers Austin Cindric of Team Penske and Chase Briscoe of Stewart-Haas Racing rounded out the top six by finishing in fifth and sixth in their #22 Ford and #98 Ford, respectively.

Joe Gibbs Racing’s Brandon Jones, JR Motorsports’ Michael Annett, GMS Racing’s John Hunter Nemechek and RSS Racing’s Ryan Sieg rounded out the top 10 by finishing in seventh, eighth, ninth and 10th place in their #19 Toyota, #1 Chevrolet, #23 Chevrolet and #39 Chevrolet, respectively.

The race featured a total of 12 lead changes among five drivers. Aside of Busch, who led more laps than anybody else in the field with 116 laps led, four other drivers led at least one lap of the race. Those drivers were Custer, Cindric, Noah Gragson and race polesitter Christopher Bell. Cindric won stage one while Bell won stage two.

The complexion of the race changed on lap 131 when the engine of Stephen Leicht’s #01 JD Motorsports Chevrolet blew up. Justin Allgaier and Bell, who were running in second and third place at the time, were behind Leicht on the track when this happened, and they ran over the oil that came out of Leicht’s car.

Both Allgaier and Bell hit the wall, and their cars sustained damage. While Allgaier was able to continue racing and ended up finishing the race just one lap off the lead lap in 14th place in his #7 JR Motorsports Chevrolet, Bell was unable to continue and ended up finishing in 30th in his #20 Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota after leading 69 of the race’s first 130 laps.

The caution flag period that took place as a result of this wreck was one of four caution flag periods that took place throughout the race. Of the other three, only one took place as a result of an on-track incident, as the other two took place as a result of the usual endings of stage one and stage two. Of the 37 drivers who started the race, 28 finished it and 13 finished it on the lead lap.
