A total of 36 drivers are set to compete in the STP 500 at Martinsville Speedway, which is the sixth race on the 2019 NASCAR Cup Series schedule.

With five of the 36 races on the 2019 NASCAR Cup Series schedule having been completed, the series is set to head to Martinsville Speedway for the STP 500, which is the first of two scheduled races at the track this year.

A total of 36 drivers are set to compete in this 500-lap race around the four-turn, 0.526-mile (0.847-kilometer) Martinsville Speedway oval in Ridgeway, Virginia, as there are 36 drivers on the entry list and none of them will be bumped from the field since the entry list total is not above maximum field capacity, which is 40 drivers.

This race is the fifth consecutive race for which the entry list has not been at least full, as the season opener, the Daytona 500, at Daytona International Speedway is still the only race that has had at least a full entry list so far this season. Two drivers were bumped from the field for this race since the entry list contained a season-high total of 42 drivers.

As stated, none of the fields for any of the races that have taken place since then have been full, and none of them have contained 39 drivers, either.

A total of 38 drivers also entered the races at Las Vegas Motor Speedway and Auto Club Speedway, which were the third and fifth races of the season, respectively.

The other two races, the second race of the season at Atlanta Motor Speedway and the fourth race of the season at ISM Raceway, featured just 37 drivers and 36 drivers, respectively. As a result, the number of drivers on the entry list for this Sunday’s STP 500 is tied for the smallest number of drivers on any entry list so far this season.

The 33 full-time drivers, including the 32 who are eligible to score points in the Cup Series and the one who is not, who have competed in each of the first five races of the season are all set to compete in this race, as is the one other driver, a part-time driver, who has competed in each of the season’s first five races as well.

The lone full-time driver who is not eligible to score Cup Series points is Ross Chastain. Chastain is not eligible to do so as a result of the fact that he is also a full-time Xfinity Series driver and he is eligible to score points in that series.

Meanwhile, Cody Ware is the lone part-time driver who has competed in each of the season’s first five races. He is set to drive the #51 Petty Ware Racing Chevrolet for the fifth consecutive race this Sunday after opening up the season by driving the #52 Rick Ware Racing Chevrolet in the season opener.

In addition to the 34 drivers who have competed in each of the first five races on this year’s schedule, there are two other part-time drivers on the entry list for this race. These drivers, Jeb Burton and D.J. Kennington, are both set to drive for non-chartered teams, as Burton is set to drive the #52 Rick Ware Racing Chevrolet and Kennington is set to drive the #77 Spire Motorsports Chevrolet.

Here is a list of the 36 drivers who are set to compete in the 2019 Auto Club 400 at Auto Club Speedway.
