NASCAR Xfinity Series: A.J. Allmendinger to drive part-time for Kaulig Racing

A.J. Allmendinger is set to drive for Kaulig Racing on a part-time basis throughout the remainder of the 2019 NASCAR Xfinity Series season.
A.J. Allmendinger, the former NASCAR Cup Series driver who signed with NBC Sports Group to be a part of the network’s exclusive IMSA coverage and to contribute to NASCAR America throughout the 2019 Cup Series season after losing his full-time Cup Series ride with JTG Daugherty Racing to rookie Ryan Preece for this season, is set to return to NASCAR in 2019.
The 37-year-old Los Gatos, California is set to drive for Kaulig Racing in select Xfinity Series races throughout the remainder of the season. He is set to drive the #10 Chevrolet for the team in these races.
The number of races and the races themselves in which Allmendinger is set to compete as well as information pertaining to his sponsorship for these races have not yet been revealed.

However, it has been confirmed that he will not drive in the season’s eighth, 15th, 26th or 31st races at Richmond Raceway, Chicagoland Speedway, Las Vegas Motor Speedway and Texas Motor Speedway, respectively.
Ross Chastain is set to drive the #10 Chevrolet for the team in the races at Chicagoland Speedway and Texas Motor Speedway while Elliott Sadler is set to drive it in the races at Richmond Raceway and Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
Chastain already drove the #10 Chevrolet for the team in the season opener at Daytona International Speedway while Austin Dillon drove it in the season’s third race at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
Here is what Allmendinger had to say about the opportunity to drive for Kaulig Racing on a part-time basis this season, according to NASCAR.

Here is what Kaulig Racing president Chris Rice had to say about the addition of Allmendinger to the team’s driver lineup, according to NASCAR.
"“I am looking forward to seeing what AJ can do in the No. 10 Kaulig Racing Chevy. He is another talented driver that we have tapped to wheel our All-Star car and I can’t wait to see it compete for wins.”"
Allmendinger has made just 11 career starts in the Xfinity Series over the course of four seasons. He competed in seven races in the 2007 season, one race in the 2008 season, two races in the 2013 season and one race in the 2018 season.
Allmendinger recorded two victories, three top five finishes and three top 10 finishes in these 11 races. He won both of the races in which he competed in the 2013 season at Road America and Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course. He has recorded an average career starting position of 14.5 and an average career finishing position of 15.6.
His lone top five finish (and top 10) finish in the Xfinity Series that was not a victory is his second place finish in the race at Watkins Glen International in the 2018 season.
Expect to find out which races A.J. Allmendinger is set to compete in as the driver of the #10 Kaulig Racing Chevrolet throughout the remainder of the 2019 NASCAR Xfinity Series in the near future.
