Formula 1 Team Power Rankings after 2019 Bahrain Grand Prix
By Asher Fair
Following Mercedes-AMG Petronas Motorsport’s second victory of the 2019 season, how do the Formula 1 Team Power Rankings look?
Mercedes-AMG Petronas Motorsport secured their second victory in the first two races of the 21-race 2019 Formula 1 season, as Lewis Hamilton won the Bahrain Grand Prix in shocking fashion after a potential dominant victory got away from Scuderia Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc due to an engine issue.
Hamilton’s victory in the 57-lap race around the 15-turn, 3.363-mile (5.412-kilometer) Bahrain International Circuit road course in Sakhir, Bahrain came one race after teammate Valtteri Bottas opened up the season by winning the Australian Grand Prix.
One season after Ferrari started with two victories in the first two races, the same two races that opened up the 2019 season, Mercedes have done the same thing, and they have do so with two consecutive 1-2 finishes. Hamilton finished in second place in the Australian Grand Prix while Bottas finished in second in the Bahrain Grand Prix.

Mercedes ended up finishing the 2018 season with 11 victories while Ferrari ended up finishing with six, so the fact that they have won two races right off the bat this year that Ferrari won last year certainly bodes well for the Silver Arrows despite the fact that good fortune played a huge role in Hamilton’s victory in the Bahrain Grand Prix, which very well could have resulted in a 1-2 finish for Ferrari.
How did Mercedes’ second victory of the 2019 season affect the Formula 1 Team Power Rankings? Here are the formulated Formula 1 Team Power Rankings and the non-formulated Formula 1 Team Power Rankings following the Bahrain Grand Prix.
