Formula 1 Driver Power Rankings after 2019 French Grand Prix
By Asher Fair
Following a French Grand Prix that featured very little action at the front, how do the Formula 1 Driver Power Rankings look?
Mercedes-AMG Petronas Motorsport’s Lewis Hamilton started the eighth race of the 21-race 2019 Formula 1 season, the French Grand Prix, at Circuit Paul Ricard from the pole position, and he never relinquished the lead en route to a dominant victory that was never in doubt.
Hamilton’s dominant victory in this 53-lap race around the 15-turn, 3.63-mile (5.842-kilometer) Circuit Paul Ricard road course in Le Castellet, France was his fourth consecutive victory and his sixth victory in the last seven races.
Mercedes’ Valtteri Bottas is the only other driver who has been victorious at all this season. He won the season opener, the Australian Grand Prix, and the season’s fourth race, the Azerbaijan Grand Prix.
Hamilton finished in second place in both of these races and has not finished outside of the top two in any of the last 10 races going back to last season. He has won eight of these 10 races and has not finished behind anybody other than Bottas since last October’s Mexican Grand Prix.
How did the action from Circuit Paul Ricard affect the Formula 1 Driver Power Rankings? Here are the non-formulated Formula 1 Driver Power Rankings following the eighth race of the 2019 season.
