Camping World 225 preview
The NASCAR Truck Series is set to stay in Illinois for its next race. From World Wide Technology Raceway at Gateway in Madison, Illinois to Chicagoland Speedway, the host of the next Truck Series race, in Joliet, Illinois is about 220 miles.
This next race, the Camping World 225, is scheduled to be the second of four races at Chicagoland Speedway from Thursday, June 27 through Sunday, June 30. The ARCA Menards Series race is scheduled to take place there on Thursday, June 27 before the Camping World 225 on Friday, June 28.
NBC is set to begin its coverage of the 2019 season at Chicagoland Speedway. The first race for the network will be the Camping World 300, the Xfinity Series race, on Saturday, June 29. Finally, the Cup Series is scheduled to wrap up the Chicagoland Speedway race weekend on Sunday, June 30 with the Camping World 400.

Only two Truck Series winners are expected to be entered in the Camping World 300. Johnny Sauter won there in 2017. He will return to the Truck Series following his one race suspension. Sauter also won at Chicagoland Speedway in the Xfinity Series race in 2002.
Last season at Chicagoland Speedway, Brett Moffitt won the Overton’s 225. Both Moffitt and Sauter have already won this season, but they certainly would like to add to their playoff points.
Another driver to keep an eye on in the Camping World 225 is Sheldon Creed. In two career ARCA Menards Series starts at Chicagoland Speedway, he has won a pole and a Top 5 finish. His Truck Series team, GMS Racing, went to Victory Lane in 2017 with Sauter. Plus, Creed’s teammate is defending race winner Moffitt.
A win by Creed would further change the playoff picture, moving the cut line up a position. For the Kyle Busch Motorsports duo Harrison Burton and Todd Gilliland, a win by someone below them in the point standings further hurts their odds of making the playoffs. With five races left in the regular season, the pressure is mounting.
The Camping World 300 is scheduled to take place on Friday, June 28. The NASCAR Truck Series drivers will race around the 1.5-mile for 150 laps. The first stage will end at lap 35 and the second stage will end at lap 70. Fox Sports 1 will broadcast the race beginning at 9 p.m. ET.
