Follow along with our live qualifying updates for the 2019 NASCAR Cup Series regular season’s penultimate race at Darlington Raceway, the Bojangles’ Southern 500.

This Sunday evening’s Bojangles’ Southern 500 at Darlington Raceway is the penultimate race on the 26-race 2019 NASCAR Cup Series regular season schedule.

A total of 39 drivers are set to compete in this race at “The Lady in Black”. Darlington Raceway is one of the 10 tracks on the schedule that only host one race each season, and it is the eighth of nine tracks on the regular season schedule that do so.

Only the Big Machine Vodka 400 at the Brickyard at Indianapolis Motor Speedway will remain on the schedule following this race prior to the determination of the 16-driver field for the upcoming four-round, 10-race playoffs, and the Brickyard is also only on the schedule once.

Aside of these two tracks, Homestead-Miami Speedway, the site of the season finale, is the only other track remaining on the schedule this season that hasn’t yet hosted a race this year.

Charlotte Motor Speedway hosts two races, although one is on the oval and the other is on both the oval and the track’s interior road course, also known as the roval. The oval race was contested at the track back in late May while the roval race is scheduled to wrap up the round of 16 of the playoffs in late September.

Entering the Bojangles’ Southern 500, 10 different drivers representing six different teams have been victorious so far in 2019. Nine of these 10 drivers representing five of these six teams are full-time Cup Series drivers, and seven of these nine drivers representing four of these five teams have won multiple races this year.

Meanwhile, 12 different drivers, all full-time drivers, representing six different teams have taken at least one pole position so far this season. However, only six of these 12 drivers representing four of these five teams have taken multiple pole positions in 2019.

Who will qualify where throughout the field for Sunday evening’s 367-lap race around the four-turn, 1.366-mile (2.198-kilometer) Darlington Raceway oval in Darlington, South Carolina? Most importantly, who will take the pole position?
