Kyle Busch secured his fourth victory of the 2019 NASCAR Xfinity Series season in his seventh and final start of the season in the Indiana 250 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

Joe Gibbs Racing’s Kyle Busch closed out his 2019 NASCAR Xfinity Series schedule by winning the penultimate race of the 26-race regular season at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, the Indiana 250. This victory is Busch’s fourth victory of the season in seven starts and his first since he won the race at Texas Motor Speedway in late March.

Busch started today’s 100-lap race around the four-turn, 2.5-mile (4.023-kilometer) Indianapolis Motor Speedway oval in Speedway, Indiana from the pole position in his #18 Toyota, and he held off JR Motorsports’ Justin Allgaier in second place in his #7 Chevrolet to win it by just 0.132 seconds.

JR Motorsport took three of the top four positions, as Noah Gragson finished in third place in his #9 Chevrolet and Jeb Burton finished in fourth in his #8 Chevrolet. Kaulig Racing’s Justin Haley gave Chevrolet drivers four of the top five positions by finishing in fifth in his #11 Chevrolet.

Joe Gibbs Racing’s Brandon Jones finished in sixth place in his #19 Toyota ahead of the race’s highest finishing Ford drivers, Stewart-Haas Racing teammates Cole Custer and Chase Briscoe, in seventh and eighth in their #00 Ford and #98 Ford, respectively. Hattori Racing Enterprises’ Austin Hill finished in ninth in his #61 Toyota ahead of RSS Racing’s Ryan Sieg in 10th in his #39 Chevrolet.

This race featured a total of 14 lead changes among seven drivers. Busch led more laps than anybody else in the field with 46 laps led. Allgaier, Gragson, Jones, DGM Racing’s Josh Williams, Joe Gibbs Racing’s Christopher Bell and Richard Childress Racing’s Tyler Reddick also led at least one lap of the race. Jones won stage one while Allgaier won stage two.

The turning point of this race took place late when Bell and Reddick were battling for the lead heading into turn two. Bell was on the inside with Reddick on the outside, and they made contact, sending both cars hard into the turn two barrier and giving Busch the lead that he never gave up.

This crash brought out one of the race’s eight caution flag periods and its lone red flag period. Of the 38 drivers who started the race, 27 finished it and 25 finished on the lead lap.
