The opening race of the round of 12 of the 2019 NASCAR Cup Series playoffs, the Drydene 400, at Dover International Speedway is set to feature 38 drivers.

The opening round of the four-round, 10-race 2019 NASCAR Cup Series playoffs wrapped up this past Sunday with Hendrick Motorsports’ Chase Elliott winning the round of 16 finale at the Charlotte Motor Speedway roval in come-from-behind fashion.

Dover International Speedway is scheduled to get the second three-race round of the playoffs, the round of 12, underway this Sunday, October 6 with the Drydene 400.

A total of 38 drivers are set to compete in this 400-lap race around the four-turn, 1.0-mile (1.609-kilometer) high-banked Dover International Speedway oval in Dover, Delaware.

Among these drivers are 33 full-time drivers and five part-time drivers. Of the 33 full-time drivers, only Premium Motorsports’ Ross Chastain has missed one of the season’s first 29 races, as he did not compete in the race at Michigan International Speedway in June.

Only two full-time drivers, Chastain and StarCom Racing’s Landon Cassill, are not eligible to score Cup Series points. Of the 31 remaining full-time drivers, 16 are playoff drivers. Of these 16 playoff drivers, 12 are still eligible to win this year’s championship while four have been eliminated from championship contention.

Of the five part-time drivers who are set to compete in this race, three are set to drive for chartered teams while two are set to drive for non-chartered teams.

The three part-time drivers who are set to drive for chartered teams in this race are Petty Ware Racing’s B.J. McLeod, Rick Ware Racing’s J.J. Yeley and Spire Motorsports’ Reed Sorenson. The two part-time drivers who are set to drive for non-chartered teams in this race are Premium Motorsports’ Joe Nemechek and an unnamed Rick Ware Racing driver.

Here is a list of the 38 drivers who are set to compete in the 2019 Drydene 400 at Dover International Speedway.
