Bubba Wallace refused to say that the drama between him and Alex Bowman is over ahead of the NASCAR Cup Series playoff race at Dover International Speedway.

The third and final race of the opening round of the four-round, 10-race 2019 NASCAR Cup Series playoffs are the Charlotte Motor Speedway was won by fan-favorite Chase Elliott after a remarkable come-from-behind drive following an embarrassing wreck involving only his #9 Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet.

But much of the attention after the race went to Alex Bowman and Darrell Wallace Jr.

Bowman’s #88 Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet made contact with Wallace’s #43 Richard Petty Motorsports Chevrolet on the opening lap of this 109-lap race around the 17-turn, 2.28-mile (3.669-kilometer) Charlotte Motor Speedway roval in Concord, North Carolina.

That led to Wallace flipping off Bowman lap after lap before Bowman decided that enough was enough and sent Wallace into the wall.

After the race, Bowman needed medical attention due to an illness that he had been dealing with leading up to the race as well as the extreme temperatures at the track and inside the cars.

His comeback drive to finish in second place after being involving in multiple incidents clearly took a toll on him physically. While he was down on the ground receiving this medical attention, however, an angry Wallace approached him and then proceeded to chuck his drink on him.

Wallace has faced tons of criticism for his actions, and he faced additional criticism for stating that Bowman was only “playing the sick card” after the race when that clearly wasn’t the case.

Bowman proceeded to defend Wallace against this criticism, stating that everyone has their emotions both in and out of the car and that those kinds of things can happen.

Yet Wallace, who flipped off Bowman in the previous weekend’s race at Richmond Raceway multiple times as well after the two made contact, refuses to acknowledge that this drama is over.

When asked whether the situation with Bowman was over, here is what Wallace had to say, according to NBC Sports.

"“We’ll see. He’s already on six strikes.”"

Maybe Wallace believes that Bowman is playing the “defense card” to avoid further retaliation, much like he believes he was only playing the “sick card”.

Bowman is one of the 12 drivers remaining in championship contention heading into the round of 12 opener at Dover International Speedway while Wallace sits in 26th place in the championship standings with nothing to lose from a competition standpoint if he does decide to get retaliation.
