Hendrick Motorsports’ Chase Elliott took his fourth pole position of the 36-race 2019 NASCAR Cup Series season by taking the pole for the season’s 31st race and fifth of 10 playoff races at Talladega Superspeedway, the 1000Bulbs.com 500.
Elliott took the pole position for this 188-lap race around the four-turn, 2.66-mile (4.281-kilometer) high-banked Talladega Superspeedway in Lincoln, Alabama by recording a top lap time of 49.692 seconds (192.707 miles per hour) in his #9 Chevrolet in the single-car qualifying session for this race.
Elliott, who won the regular season race at Talladega Superspeedway back in late April, led a top four Hendrick Motorsports sweep in this qualifying session.

Alex Bowman, William Byron and Jimmie Johnson qualified in second, third and fourth place in their #88 Chevrolet, #24 Chevrolet and #48 Chevrolet, respectively.
Stewart-Haas Racing’s Aric Almirola was the highest qualifying Ford driver for this race. He qualified in fifth place ahead of five other Ford drivers, who rounded out the top 10.
Team Penske teammates Brad Keselowski, Ryan Blaney and Joey Logano qualified in sixth, ninth and 10th place in their #2 Ford, #12 Ford and #22 Ford, respectively. Roush Fenway Racing’s Ricky Stenhouse Jr. qualified in seventh in his #17 Ford ahead of Stewart-Haas Racing’s Clint Bowyer in eighth in his #14 Ford.
Joe Gibbs Racing’s Erik Jones was the highest qualifying Toyota driver for this race. He qualified in 11th place in his #20 Toyota.
