Spencer Boyd secured his first career NASCAR Truck Series victory in the Sugarlands Shine 250 at Talladega Superspeedway after original race winner Johnny Sauter was penalized.

Young’s Motorsports’ Spencer Boyd got the round of 6 of the 2019 NASCAR Truck Series playoffs of to a hot start by winning the Sugarlands Shine 250 at Talladega Superspeedway.

Unfortunately for Boyd, he is not one of the playoff drivers, but this victory was the first victory of his Truck Series career, and it came after he originally finished in second place behind ThorSport Racing’s Johnny Sauter.

But upon further review, it was ruled that Sauter’s #13 Ford went below the double yellow line to block Kyle Busch Motorsports’ Riley Herbst coming to the checkered flag, and he was demoted to 14th place as the final driver on the lead lap as a result of it.
