Tony Stewart went on a hilarious rant about what fighting has become in NASCAR in light of the recent scuffles among playoff drivers.

Three-time NASCAR Cup Series champion Tony Stewart was inducted into the Texas Motorsports Hall of Fame on Saturday afternoon, and as you might expect, it didn’t go the way anybody had predicted.

Stewart has been in the news a lot this past week for taking a Cup car for a spin at Circuit of the Americas ahead of this afternoon’s United States Grand Prix Formula 1 race at the track and for saying that the Formula 1 and NASCAR Texas race promoters “have their heads up their asses” for scheduling races that are just 220 miles apart on the same day, as the Cup Series is set to compete at Texas Motor Speedway this afternoon as well.

During his induction, Stewart further put himself in the spotlight when he went on a rant that had those in attendance laughing for much of its duration.

More from NASCAR Cup Series

The 48-year-old Columbus, Indiana native discussed fighting in NASCAR and what it has become in light of recent scuffles between playoff contenders in both the Xfinity Series and the Cup Series.

He went on this rant after recalling a fight between A.J. Foyt and Arie Luyendyk at Texas Motor Speedway back in 1997, claiming that he, Foyt and track president Eddie Gossage need to start “a little fantasy camp for drivers to teach them how to fight instead of this ‘patty cake, patty cake’ shit.”

Following the round of 8 Xfinity Series playoff race at Kansas Speedway, Stewart-Haas Racing’s Cole Custer and Richard Childress Racing’s Tyler Reddick got into a scuffle in the pits. Then after the round of 8 Cup Series playoff race at Martinsville Speedway, Team Penske’s Joey Logano and Joe Gibbs Racing’s Denny Hamlin did as well.

Stewart, however, was not impressed by either — not because they were fighting, but because, based on his standards, they weren’t.

Here is what Stewart had to say in reference to the former after Reddick himself stated that he asked Custer “Are we going to use hands?” before their scuffle.

"“It’s like, ‘Oh my God, what are we doing? We’re going to hold hands to come in from recess and preschool?’”"

Here is what he had to say about the latter.

"“It frustrates the crap out of me. I can’t stand watching these guys. I’m watching Joey Logano with his hand on his crew guy in front of him so he can act like he’s swinging back there. For God’s sake. This is getting embarrassing.“I tell you what, just line both of them up. I’ll whip their ass by myself together. I don’t care. I’ll take them both on. We can do it right after this (luncheon) is over. Take them to the media center, I’ll whip both their asses. You can put them right beside each other. I’ll take them down. You can stand behind me and act like you’re going to do something, Gossage. That way it looks like at least two on two. It looks more fair to them, anyway.”"

Never change, Smoke.

There are still two more NASCAR Xfinity Series races and three more Cup Series races on the 2019 schedule. Will there be any more of what the average fan considers “fighting” before these championships are decided? Will there be any of what Tony Stewart would like to see out of a “fight”, or will it all boil down to nothing more than two drivers “holding hands coming in from recess”?
