2. Charlotte Motor Speedway Roval

A lot of fans want this track to host a tripleheader weekend. The first two years of NASCAR Cup Series racing at the Charlotte Motor Speedway roval have been a huge success, and there is no reason to believe that the racing wouldn’t be just as good if the IMSA WeatherTech Sports Car Championship and IndyCar raced their as well.

Two-time IndyCar champion Josef Newgarden ran laps in an IndyCar at the 17-turn, 2.28-mile (3.669-kilometer) track in Concord, North Carolina, and Jordan Taylor ran laps in an IMSA GTLM spec race car there as well.

Both drivers loved the track and would love to compete there. Charlotte Motor Speedway also has lights, so this could lead to a night race, which would make scheduling a tripleheader weekend much easier.

With so many of the biggest teams in motorsports based in and around Charlotte, including Team Penske, and with Roger Penske as the new owner of IndyCar and a team owner in all three series, he could make a big push for this one.
