Chad Finchum is slated to drive the second MBM Motorsports entry in the 2020 NASCAR Cup Series season-opening Daytona 500 at Daytona International Speedway.

Last month, MBM Motorsports confirmed that they would be running two cars, the #66 Ford and the #49 Toyota, at Daytona International Speedway in February to attempt to qualify for the 2020 NASCAR Cup Series season-opening Daytona 500.

At the time, they did confirm that Timmy Hill is slated to drive the #66 Ford in an attempt to qualify for the 62nd running of this 200-lap race around the four-turn, 2.5-mile (4.023-kilometer) high-banked Daytona International Speedway oval in Daytona Beach, Florida.

They added that their goal for that team was to become a full-time effort for the 2020 season after this race.

While the team have yet to publicly confirm who will be behind the #49 Toyota in the single-car qualifying session and then one of the two Bluegreen Vacations Duels in an attempt to make the field, Fox Sports’ Bob Pockrass stated on Twitter that it will be Chad Finchum teaming up with Hill next month.

More from NASCAR Cup Series

Finchum has just one career Cup Series start to his name, with that one start coming back in April of 2018 at Bristol Motor Speedway when he drove for MBM Motorsports behind the wheel of the #66 Toyota and crashed after completing 335 of the race’s 500 laps.

The 25-year-old Knoxville, Tennessee native has competed full-time for MBM Motorsports in the Xfinity Series over the last two seasons after making the first seven starts of his career in the 2017 season.

Official confirmation from MBM Motorsports about Finchum’s Daytona 500 entry is expected in the near future.
