Kyle Busch is set to compete in five races throughout the 2020 NASCAR Xfinity Series season, Joe Gibbs Racing have confirmed.

Joe Gibbs Racing full-time NASCAR Cup Series driver Kyle Busch is again slated to compete in as many Xfinity Series races as he is allowed to compete during the 2020 season, and with the stricter regulations having been implemented ahead of the season, that total is down from seven to five.

The five races in which the two-time Cup Series champion is slated to compete throughout the 33-race season have been confirmed by the organization. He is set to make his first start of the year in the season’s fourth race at Phoenix Raceway on Saturday, March 7.

After that, he is set to compete in the season’s 11th, 15th, 19th and 22nd races at Charlotte Motor Speedway, Chicagoland Speedway, New Hampshire Motor Speedway and Watkins Glen International, respectively.

Those races are scheduled to take place on Saturday, May 23, Saturday, June 20, Saturday, July 18 and Saturday, August 15. The 34-year-old Las Vegas, Nevada native is slated to drive the #54 Toyota in each of these five races.

The only other confirmed driver for this car this year is Cup Series teammate Denny Hamlin, who is set to compete in the race at Darlington Raceway in September.

Joe Gibbs Racing have three full-time Xfinity Series drivers this year for the first time in team history. Rookie Riley Herbst drives the #18 Toyota, Brandon Jones drives the #19 Toyota and rookie Harrison Burton drives the #20 Toyota.

Busch is the winningest driver in series history with 96 victories. His win total is equal to the win totals of the second and third place drivers combined (Mark Martin with 49 and Kevin Harvick with 47).
