The third and final NASCAR Cup Series race of the annual West Coast Swing is the fourth of 36 races on the 2020 schedule, and it is scheduled to take place this Sunday afternoon at Phoenix Raceway. Phoenix Raceway is also slated to be the host of the championship-deciding season finale in November for the first time.

A total of 38 drivers are set to compete in this Sunday afternoon’s 312-lap FanShield 500 at the four-turn, 1.022-mile (1.645-kilometer) oval in Avondale, Arizona in the same 38 cars that have competed in the last two races.

Just one driver is on the entry list for this weekend’s race after having not competed in the most recent two races. B.J. McLeod is set to drive one of Rick Ware Racing’s three cars instead of Garrett Smithley.

More from NASCAR Cup Series

The first three races of the season have seen three different winners and three different polesitters, and no driver has both won a race and taken a pole position. Chevrolet, Ford and Toyota each have had one winner and one polesitter so far this season.

Joe Gibbs Racing’s Denny Hamlin won the season-opening Daytona 500 at Daytona International Speedway in his #11 Toyota after JTG Daugherty Racing’s Ricky Stenhouse Jr. started from the pole position in his #47 Chevrolet.

Joe Gibbs Racing’s Martin Truex Jr. was awarded the pole position at Las Vegas Motor Speedway in his #19 Toyota after rain washed out the scheduled qualifying session and provisional polesitter Kyle Busch, also of Joe Gibbs Racing, was penalized and sent to the rear of the field. Team Penske’s Joey Logano won the race in his #22 Ford.

Then at Auto Club Speedway, Stewart-Haas Racing’s Clint Bowyer took the pole position in his #14 Ford before Hendrick Motorsports’ Alex Bowman went on to dominate the race in his #88 Chevrolet.

Who will qualify where for this Sunday afternoon’s FanShield 500? Which manufacturer will be the first to score two pole positions this season, and will the trend of different teams and drivers sitting on the pole continue?
