2. Daytona 500

I’m going with back-to-back Daytona International Speedway races on this list.

I wouldn’t argue if people said that the Daytona 500 was the biggest race in the United States as opposed to the second biggest. But I’m going to slot it in at a very close second. Being the biggest race in NASCAR, which is still the most popular racing series in the United States, there is no arguing that the Daytona 500 ranks right up there among the best of the best.

The first Daytona 500 was held back in 1959, and since then, the event has been one of the most exciting and anticipated races each year. Known as the “Great American Race”, the Daytona 500 has the largest purse of any NASCAR race.

It always brings in several millions of viewers on television, and over the last few years, it has been the most watched auto race on United States television.

Anyone who wins the Daytona 500 becomes a NASCAR legend, and some of the most memorable moments in the history of motorsports have occurred in the race. This event creates some of the most exciting racing that NASCAR has to offer, and many people who are not even big NASCAR fans always seem to be interested in it.
