NASCAR: How the full-time drivers stack up
By Asher Fair
How do the NASCAR drivers who have competed in each race on the eNASCAR iRacing Pro Invitational Series schedule stack up against one another in the championship standings?
A total of 42 NASCAR drivers have competed in at least one of the four eNASCAR iRacing Pro Invitational Series races that have been contested so far at virtual Homestead-Miami Speedway, virtual Texas Motor Speedway, virtual Bristol Motor Speedway and virtual Richmond Raceway.
But of those 42 drivers, only 24 have competed in all four of those races.
The unofficial eNASCAR iRacing Pro Invitational Series championship standings are updated after each race, but given the fact that many of the drivers listed have not competed in every race, it can become confusing when determining who has actually performed at what level thus far.
So here is how those full-time drivers stack up against only one another in these standings.
Note that full-time driver status has nothing to do with full-time driver status in real-life NASCAR Cup Series competition.
Position – Driver: Points (Behind)
1st – Timmy Hill: 143 (0)
2nd – Denny Hamlin: 117 (-26)
3rd – Garrett Smithley: 114 (-29)

4th – Parker Kligerman: 113 (-30)
4th – William Byron: 113 (-30)
7th – Dale Earnhardt Jr.: 110 (-33)
8th – Landon Cassill: 108 (-35)
9th – Alex Bowman: 101 (-42)
10th – John Hunter Nemechek: 92 (-51)

14th – Clint Bowyer: 80 (-63)
15th – Erik Jones: 79 (-64)
15th – Kyle Busch: 79 (-64)

Of the 18 drivers who have competed in the series but have not done so in a full-time capacity, eight have competed in three races, two have competed in two races and eight have competed in only one race.

Among the eight drivers who have competed in only three races, Michael McDowell, who sits in a 19th place tie in the championship standings with Kurt Busch, is the top driver. He is averaging 21.33 points per race, an average that would place him in 13th had he competed in all four races thus far.
Among the two drivers who have competed in just two races, Ty Majeski, who sits in a 31st place tie in the championship standings with Ryan Blaney, is the top driver. He is averaging 17.50 points per race, an average that would place him in 19th had he competed in all four races thus far.
Finally, among the eight drivers who have competed in just one race, the leader is Chase Briscoe, who finished in fourth place and scored 33 points in his lone start at virtual Homestead-Miami Speedway. He sits in a 33rd place tie in the championship standings with Daniel Suarez, but his average of 33.00 points per race would place him in third had he competed in all four races thus far.
The fifth of six races on the eNASCAR iRacing Pro Invitational Series schedule is scheduled to take place this afternoon at 1:00 p.m. ET, and it is set to be simulcast live from virtual Talladega Superspeedway on Fox, Fox Sports 1 and the Fox Sports app. The sixth and final race on the schedule is set to be simulcast live from virtual Dover International Speedway next Sunday, May 3 at the same time and on the same networks.
