NASCAR released another installment of the return to racing schedule earlier this week. While the 2020 Cup Series schedule is complete, there are still several Xfinity Series races and Truck Series races that have not been rescheduled.

For the first time since before the coronavirus pandemic caused an unexpected 10-week hiatus in the 2020 NASCAR season, the Cup Series is looking at a 36-race schedule this season, as NASCAR confirmed the fourth installment of the return to racing schedule earlier this week.

Before this schedule update was confirmed, there were only 24 races on the regular season schedule leading up to the 10-race playoffs. The addition of two doubleheaders brought the regular season race total back up to the initially scheduled 26.

As far as races being replaced is concerned, two originally non-scheduled races at Darlington Raceway (Sunday, May 17 and Wednesday, May 20) replaced races at Richmond Raceway (Sunday, April 19) and Chicagoland Speedway (Sunday, June 21) while an originally non-scheduled race at Charlotte Motor Speedway (Thursday, May 28) replaced the race at Sonoma Raceway (Sunday, June 14).

The race at the Daytona International Speedway road course is set to replace the race at Watkins Glen International on Sunday, August 16.

However, while the Cup Series is now staring at a full season which includes 20 races over the next 18 weekends, there are still changes that need to be made to the Xfinity Series schedule and the Truck Series schedule to get them back up to the initially scheduled 33 and 23 races, respectively (26 and 16 regular season races).

The Xfinity Series schedule now contains 31 races while the Truck Series schedule now contains 19 races.

The Xfinity Series has seen a total of 12 date changes and five venue changes this season to get back up to a 31-race schedule.

But NASCAR’s second highest level of competition will not race at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course this season. The race at the track was originally scheduled to take place on Saturday, May 30. Additionally, first race at Michigan International Speedway, which was originally scheduled to take place on Saturday, June 6, will not happen. Neither race has been replaced yet.

The Truck Series has seen a total of 15 date changes and two venue changes this season to get back up to a 19-race schedule.

But NASCAR’s third highest level of competition is still seeking to find new dates and possibly new venues for races at Richmond Raceway and Texas Motor Speedway, which were scheduled to take place on Saturday, April 18 and Friday, June 5, respectively.

Additionally, the Truck Series will not race at Eldora Speedway this season. The race at the track was originally scheduled to take place on Thursday, July 30. The series will also not race at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park this season. The race at the track was originally scheduled to take place on Sunday, September 6.
