NASCAR: Triple Truck Challenge set to return in August
By Asher Fair
After a successful debut in the 2019 season, the Triple Truck Challenge is set to return to the NASCAR Truck Series in August at Daytona, Dover and Gateway.
While the coronavirus pandemic wiped it off the calendar earlier this season, the Triple Truck Challenge is still set to return to the NASCAR Truck Series for a second year in 2020 following a successful debut last season.
The three races of this year’s Triple Truck Challenge were scheduled to take place at Richmond Raceway on Saturday, April 18; Dover International Speedway on Friday, May 1; and Charlotte Motor Speedway on Friday, May 15. None of those races took place on those dates, and of those three events, only the race at Charlotte Motor Speedway has been contested this year.
The updated three-race Triple Truck Challenge is set to see these three races take place at the Daytona International Speedway road course on Sunday, August 16; Dover International Speedway on Friday, August 21; and World Wide Technology Raceway at Gateway on Sunday, August 30.

These three races are set to be broadcast live on Fox Sports 1 beginning at 12:00 p.m. ET, 5:00 p.m. ET and 12:00 p.m. ET, respectively.
During this three-race stretch, eligible drivers will be able to compete for cash prizes.
A bonus of $50,000 will go to the winner of each race, and if a driver is able to win two of the three races and thus two of these $50,000 prizes, that driver will be awarded an additional $50,000 for a total of $150,000. If a driver manages to win all three of these races and thus all three of the $50,000 bonuses and the two-race $50,000 bonus, that driver will be awarded an additional $300,000 for a total of $500,000.
Last year’s Triple Truck Challenge races were contested at Texas Motor Speedway, Iowa Speedway and World Wide Technology Raceway at Gateway and were won by Greg Biffle, Brett Moffitt and Ross Chastain, respectively.
