Denny Hamlin tied Kevin Harvick atop the 2020 NASCAR Cup Series season wins list with his sixth win of the year at Dover International Speedway.

With 24 of the 36 races on the 2020 NASCAR Cup Series schedule in the books, two drivers have combined to win half of the races.

Stewart-Haas Racing’s Kevin Harvick entered this afternoon’s Drydene 311 at Dover International Speedway leading the wins category with six victories this season after overtaking Joe Gibbs Racing’s Denny Hamlin for the top spot with a doubleheader sweep at Michigan International Speedway two weekends ago.

Now Hamlin has tied it back up again in the first of two races of the doubleheader weekend at the four-turn, 1.0-mile (1.609-kilometer) Monster Mile oval in Dover, Delaware, as he secured his first victory at the track in 29 starts after making a late pass over teammate Martin Truex Jr.

Hamlin, who started the race in second place, led a 1-2-3 finish for Joe Gibbs Racing, as Kyle Busch finished in third. This marks the team’s first 1-2-3 finish since the race at Pocono Raceway last July, when Hamlin won ahead of Erik Jones in second and Truex in third.

Behind the #11 Toyota, the #19 Toyota and the #18 Toyota, Stewart-Haas Racing’s Kevin Harvick led all of the Ford drivers in fourth place behind the wheel of his #4 Ford.

So far this season, five races have been run as a part of doubleheaders. Harvick has won three of them and Hamlin has won two. These two drivers split the doubleheader at Pocono Raceway.

Hendrick Motorsports’ Chase Elliott, who started from the pole position, led all of the Chevrolet drivers in fifth place behind the wheel of his #9 Chevrolet. This race is the third straight race at the track which has resulted in the polesitter finishing in fifth.

Today’s race featured 15 lead changes among 10 drivers, with Hamlin leading the most laps (115). The top 12 drivers finished on the lead lap.
