NASCAR: How much does Clint Bowyer hate Zoom meetings?
By Asher Fair
NASCAR Cup Series driver Clint Bowyer shared his pure disdain for Zoom meetings and the need for them brought on by the coronavirus pandemic.
The reality of 2020 is that we’ve all been in a Zoom meeting, or a few hundred, due to the restrictions caused by the coronavirus pandemic. The sports world has not been exempt from that reality, and NASCAR has been forced to embrace it as well.
Stewart-Haas Racing’s Clint Bowyer has done as much as he can do to embrace it. But that hasn’t stopped him from absolutely hating it.
Here’s what the 41-year-old driver of the #14 Ford had to say — while in a Zoom meeting — about how much he hates Zoom meetings on Wednesday, four days ahead of the Cup Series playoff opener at Darlington Raceway on Sunday, September 6.

Bowyer finished the 26-race regular season in 11th place in the point standings with seven top 10 finishes, of which two were top five finishes, and a top finish of second place at Bristol Motor Speedway in late May.
He is set to enter the playoffs in 13th place in the championship standings, one point below the round of 12 cut line, with the four playoff points that he accrued by winning four stages throughout the regular season, including two in the second race at the four-turn, 1.366-mile (2.198-kilometer) egg-shaped Darlington Raceway oval in Darlington, South Carolina back in May.
The Emporia, Kansas native is the only one of Stewart-Haas Racing’s four drivers without a contract to compete in the 2021 season following Aric Almirola’s recent extension, so the four-round, 10-race playoffs will be a way for him to fight to keep his job. He has won two races since joining the team ahead of the 2017 season, both in 2018.
Tune in to NBC Sports Network at 6:00 p.m. ET on Sunday, September 6 for the live broadcast of the Cook Out Southern 500 from Darlington Raceway. Bowyer is set to start the race in ninth place.
