NASCAR: 5 possible landing spots for Erik Jones in 2021

Erik Jones 2021 landing spots: JTG Daugherty Racing
Last but not least, JTG Daugherty Racing are probably one of the more underrated teams in the Cup Series. Their speed has not been done justice by circumstances and, in some cases, lackluster driver performance this season.
Ricky Stenhouse Jr. is already under contract to drive the #47 Chevrolet for the two-car team next year, but Ryan Preece is a pending free agent, and it is hard to believe that his 2020 season justifies him returning to the team for what would be a third year next year.

Through the first 32 races of his sophomore season, the driver of the #37 Chevrolet has not finished higher than ninth place. Through 23 races last year, he had already racked up three top eight finishes.
While Stenhouse he hasn’t shown the consistency to do the team’s performance justice, has shown that they have speed at more tracks than just superspeedways. He finished in third place at Las Vegas Motor Speedway and fourth at Charlotte Motor Speedway to go along with his near-win at Talladega Superspeedway.
Let’s also not forget what Chris Buescher did behind the wheel of the #37 Chevrolet last year. He reeled off 16 consecutive top 18 finishes. It doesn’t sound like much, but it illustrated the fact that JTG Daugherty Racing are more than capable of scoring solid results when things don’t unravel in some of the ways we have seen this season.
Plus, not even Jimmie Johnson has ever managed to pull off that feat that in his illustrious career. This wouldn’t be as huge of a step back for Erik Jones as it may look at first.
Where will Erik Jones end up in the 2021 NASCAR Cup Series season? Will he compete for one of the five teams discussed in this article following his departure from Joe Gibbs Racing?
