NASCAR: Clint Bowyer praises Stewart-Haas Racing’s latest move
By Asher Fair
Clint Bowyer praised Stewart-Haas Racing for their addition of Chase Briscoe as his replacement for the 2021 NASCAR Cup Series season.
Clint Bowyer made the decision in early October that the 2020 NASCAR Cup Series season would be his fourth and final season behind the wheel of the #14 Ford for Stewart-Haas Racing, and shortly thereafter, it was confirmed that Xfinity Series driver Chase Briscoe would be promoted as his replacement.
Bowyer confirmed that instead of competing in the Cup Series next year, he is set to begin calling Cup Series races from the Fox broadcast booth.
We recently spoke with Bowyer about his decision, and he praised Stewart-Haas Racing’s decision to promote Briscoe as well as Briscoe himself.

“I’m excited for Chase and his opportunity in the No. 14,” Bowyer told Beyond the Flag. “My fit with the team, organization and manufacturer was great and know it’s going to be the same for Chase. Wishing him luck this weekend and in the future— It’s time to let somebody else have fun.”
Briscoe is set to compete for the Xfinity Series championship at Phoenix Raceway this evening. He needs to beat JR Motorsports’ Justin Allgaier, Kaulig Racing’s Justin Haley and Team Penske’s Austin Cindric to secure the title. He has won a series-high nine of 32 races so far this season.
“It sure would be nice if Chase came into the No. 14 Ford Mustang next year as an Xfinity Series Championship under his belt,” he continued. “Wishing Chase and his Stewart-Haas Racing team good luck going into Saturday.”
Bowyer is also excited to see Briscoe remain in the Stewart-Haas Racing family with longtime partners such as Mobil 1.
“Mobil 1 is a great partner we’ve worked with for a long time, on the track but also off it with those great commercials people always bring up,” he said. I’ve worked with a lot of partners and can safely say the performance advantage, and technology Mobil 1 provides to the Stewart-Haas Racing team is second to none. Stewart-Haas is all about performance, so there’s a reason that they partner with Mobil 1.”
Briscoe is set to make his final Xfinity Series start this evening in the Championship 4 race at Phoenix Raceway, which is set to be broadcast live on NBC Sports Network beginning at 5:00 p.m. ET. Bowyer is set to make his final Cup Series start tomorrow afternoon in the season finale at the same venue, and that race is set to be broadcast live on NBC beginning at 3:00 p.m. ET.
