Joe Gibbs Racing have confirmed where Kyle Busch is set to make his five starts in the 2021 NASCAR Xfinity Series season.

The 2021 NASCAR season is just around the corner, and that means that full-time Joe Gibbs Racing Cup Series driver Kyle Busch is getting ready to do more than just drive the #18 Toyota in the Cup Series.

He is again set to compete in select Truck Series and Xfinity Series races, competing in the former for his own team, Kyle Busch Motorsports, and competing in the latter for Joe Gibbs Racing.

Full-time Cup Series drivers who have five or more seasons of full-time experience in the Cup Series are still only allowed to compete in a maximum of five Xfinity Series races per year.

As a result, Busch is again set to compete in five races throughout the upcoming 33-race season.

More from Xfinity Series

The 35-year-old Las Vegas, Nevada native is set to compete in the race at Circuit of the Americas on Saturday, May 22, the race at Texas Motor Speedway on Saturday, June 12, the race at Nashville Superspeedway on Saturday, June 19, the race at Road America on Saturday, July 3 and the race at Atlanta Motor Speedway on Saturday, July 10.

In the Xfinity Series, he most recently competed at Texas Motor Speedway last year, Atlanta Motor Speedway in 2017 and Nashville Superspeedway in 2011. He has competed in 22, 13 and 10 races at those three tracks, respectively. He has never competed at Circuit of the Americas or Road America.

He has stated on multiple occasions that he will retire from Xfinity Series competition when he gets to 100 career wins in the series, and he enters the 2021 season with 97.

He won twice in his five starts in 2020, but his win at Texas Motor Speedway did not count after he was disqualified. His one true win came at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

In the 2019 season, he won four times in the Xfinity Series, but the limit for full-time Cup Series drivers who had five or more seasons of full-time experience in the Cup Series was seven races at that time.

Busch has never won 60% of his races in any one of his 18 Xfinity Series seasons, but that is what he will need to do in 2021 to get to triple-digit wins and thus retire by the time the season ends.
