NASCAR: Kurt Busch penalized ahead of Charlotte race
By Asher Fair
Kurt Busch is set to drop to the rear of the field ahead of Sunday evening’s NASCAR Cup Series race at Charlotte Motor Speedway, the Coca-Cola 600.
The longest race of the 2021 NASCAR Cup Series season got a bit longer for Chip Ganassi Racing’s Kurt Busch, who is set to drop to the rear of the field ahead of the Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway.
Busch, who was set to start this 400-lap race around the four-turn, 1.5-mile (2.414-kilometer) oval in Concord, North Carolina in 12th place behind the wheel of his #1 Chevrolet, is set to drop to the tail end of the outside lane at the start of the event.
He was issued this penalty as a result of unapproved adjustments which were made to the #1 Chevrolet after yesterday morning’s single-car qualifying session.
