NASCAR: How Kyle Busch is helping dogs in Nashville
By Asher Fair
Kyle Busch unveiled a new PEDIGREE Foundation paint scheme for this Sunday’s inaugural NASCAR Cup Series race at Nashville Superspeedway.
The NASCAR Cup Series is set for its first ever race at Nashville Superspeedway this Sunday, and with that, Joe Gibbs Racing’s Kyle Busch is set to run a brand new paint scheme on his #18 Toyota Camry for this race, the Ally 400.
Busch unveiled a new PEDIGREE Foundation paint scheme which features seven adoptable dogs. Take a look.
Additional furry friends from the Nashville, Tennessee and Charlotte, North Carolina areas are set to sit in the #18 team’s pit box during Sunday’s 300-lap race around the four-turn, 1.333-mile (2.145-kilometer) oval in Lebanon, Tennessee.
These dogs are slated to serve as the honorary pit crew for the two-time series champion throughout the race weekend.
Here’s what Busch had to say about this initiative.
"“I’m a huge dog lover, so having PEDIGREE Foundation choose to feature shelter pets that are in need of homes on our No.18 Toyota Camry this weekend is really cool. Today I met some of the dogs firsthand in Charlotte and have some special friends up on our pit box too this weekend. With the BETTER CITIES FOR PETS Program and PEDIGREE Foundation covering adoption fees in Charlotte and Nashville this weekend, our hope is that these pets are welcomed into the loving homes they deserve.”"

Leading up to the first NASCAR weekend of any kind at Nashville Superspeedway since 2011, the 36-year-old Las Vegas, Nevada native is planning to visit the Humane Society of Charlotte to spread some love to our furry friends and help them get adopted by their loving, fur-ever homes.
Through 16 races so far this season, Busch sits in seventh place in the point standings with one victory, that coming at Kansas Speedway in early May.
