With the annual All-Star Race in the books, take a look at what remains on the 2021 NASCAR Cup Series regular season schedule.

Following last Sunday’s NASCAR All-Star Race at Texas Motor Speedway, points-paying action is scheduled to return this afternoon with the 2021 Cup Series season’s 17th race, with NBC and NBC Sports Network (NBCSN) taking over the broadcasting duties for the remainder of the 36-race season.

The four-round, 10-race postseason looks exactly like it looked last season, but the remaining regular season schedule looks quite a bit different than it has in years past.

Daytona International Speedway is back as the host of the regular season finale for the second consecutive season, giving the 26-race regular season a “wild card” race to solidify the 16-driver playoff field.

More from NASCAR Cup Series

Among the other nine races, there are three road course races, including two at road courses new to this year’s schedule: Road America and the Indianapolis Motor Speedway road course.

Road America hosted its one and only Cup Series race back in 1956 while the Indianapolis Motor Speedway road course has never hosted a Cup Series race before. The other road course race is set to take place at Watkins Glen International, a mainstay on the calendar that did not host a race last year due to COVID-19-related restrictions in the state of New York.

Additionally, this afternoon’s race at Nashville Superspeedway is a new one as well. Nashville Superspeedway has never hosted a Cup Series race before. It was added as the replacement for the second Dover International Speedway race, making the 2021 season the first season since the 1970 season without Dover International Speedway on the schedule twice.

Here’s a look at the remaining 2021 regular season schedule.

There have been 11 different winners through the first 16 races of the regular season, with three of those 11 drivers winning multiple times. This leaves open the possibility of having more than 16 regular season winners, though we haven’t seen a new winner in four weeks.
