Bubba Wallace is among five drivers who are set to drop to the rear of the field before Sunday’s NASCAR Cup Series race at New Hampshire Motor Speedway.

The starting lineup for this afternoon’s NASCAR Cup Series race at New Hampshire Motor Speedway, the Foxwoods Resort Casino 301, was set by the starting lineup formula, but there have been several changes due to pre-race penalties.

Five drivers are set to drop to the rear of the 37-car field ahead of this 301-lap race around the four-turn, 1.058-mile (1.703-kilometer) oval in Loudon, New Hampshire.

Among those drivers, 23XI Racing’s Bubba Wallace was to have started the farthest forward in 18th place. He is set to drop to the tail end of the outside lane after unapproved adjustments were made to his #23 Toyota.

The other four drivers set to drop to the rear of the field were penalized as a result of the fact that their cars failed pre-race inspection multiple times.

JTG Daugherty Racing’s Ryan Preece was to have started in 25th place, but he is set to drop to the tail end of the inside lane after his #37 Chevrolet had pre-race inspection issues. Set to start alongside Preece in 26th was Spire Motorsports’ Corey LaJoie, whose #7 Chevrolet also had inspection issues. He is set to drop to the tail end of the outside lane.

Live Fast Motorsports’ B.J. McLeod, who had been slated to start in 32nd place behind the wheel of his #78 Ford, and StarCom Racing’s Quin Houff, who had been slated to start in 36th behind the wheel of his #00 Chevrolet, are both set to drop to the tail end of the rear end for the same reason.
