F1 post-season videos: No. 2 – Poor Antonio Giovinazzi

Antonio Giovinazzi deserves better. He deserves another chance in Formula 1 with a better car, and he proved his case with solid performances in the second half of the season.

And he deserved better in the Secret Santa from Carlos Sainz Jr.

He was gifted a Reindeer-shaped Christmas headband. This might seem like a cute gift, but compare that to what he gifted to Sainz. Giovinazzi went all Italian with a bottle of Italian wine, Italian olive oil, pasta, topped with a Swiss Army knife. Wonder what the Smooth Operator was thinking after receiving these gifts.

F1 post-season videos: No. 3 – Carlos Sainz Jr. predicts the future

The 2021 season was definitely a breakthrough season for Sainz. In his first season with Ferrari, he managed to finish above his teammate — and Ferrari’s number one driver, Charles Leclerc. Leclerc had never been beaten by a teammate until 2021.

Sainz showed that he has the potential to become a future world champion. His consistency was the key for him finishing in fifth place — best of the rest — in the driver standings, and he showed that same consistency in his predictions for the 2021 season.

The drivers were asked to write their predictions for the 2021 season at the beginning of the season, and they were required to open them before the last race of the season.

There were three questions, and Sainz nailed all of them. He predicted that six different drivers would win a race this season when asked about “the most surprising thing that will happen this year”. He was also asked to predict his favorite race, and he predicted the Monaco Grand Prix. Well, he finished in second place, tying his career-best, so make of that what you will.
