Take a look at the running order when NASCAR announced that the remainder of the Cup Series race at Dover Motor Speedway would be postponed.

For the first time in 11 races this year, NASCAR has made the decision to postpone a Cup Series race to Monday as a result of rain.

Just 78 of the 400 scheduled laps of Sunday afternoon’s DuraMAX Drydene 400 presented by RelaDyne were able to be contested around the four-turn, 1.0-mile (1.609-kilometer) high-banked Dover Motor Speedway oval in Dover, Delaware before NASCAR red-flagged the race due to rain.

After a lengthy delay, they made the call to push the conclusion of the race back to Monday afternoon. A race is not deemed official until it reaches the halfway mark or the end of stage two, whichever comes sooner.

Had the race reached lap 200 (halfway mark), it would have been deemed and official and not resumed.

Stage two is scheduled to end after lap 250. Sunday’s race never even saw the end of stage one, which is scheduled for lap 120.

At the stoppage, Hendrick Motorsports’ Kyle Larson was scored as the race leader, having led for five caution laps leading up to the red flag after Joe Gibbs Racing’s Denny Hamlin, who passed polesitter Chris Buescher of RFK Racing for the lead on lap 19, made a pit stop.

Hamlin, who has led a race-high 55 laps, is now scored in eighth place. Buescher, who led the first 18 laps after earning his first career pole position in Saturday’s qualifying session, is scored in 13th.

Here is the full running order after lap 78 of 400. The top 29 drivers are scored on the lead lap.
