Top NASCAR teams of 2022: No. 1 – Hendrick Motorsports

Does this really surprise anyone? Hendrick Motorsports have been an absolute powerhouse in the NASCAR Cup Series for years and years. With five total wins through 12 races this year, it doesn’t look like they’re going anywhere anytime soon.

The points leader, Chase Elliott, has been nothing short of great this year. He has nine top 10 finishes in the first 12 races of the year and has finished every race, even winning at Dover Motor Speedway. William Byron is one of only two drivers with multiple wins so far in the 2022 season, and he has two other top five finishes.

Alex Bowman has made a living in the top 10 this year. The #48 Chevrolet has crossed the finish line in the top ten seven different times, including as the race winner at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

And how could we forget 2021 Cup Series champion Kyle Larson? The #5 Chevrolet is a threat to win every race, and Larson was the team’s first driver to win in 2022 with his victory at Auto Club Speedway. He does, however, have the most DNFs on the team with three.

In a year during which 10 different winners have emerged through the first 12 races, every Hendrick Motorsports driver has already found victory lane. If there is one word to describe this team in the 2022 season, that word is “dominant”.
