Keep tabs on Saturday afternoon’s qualifying session for Sunday afternoon’s NASCAR Cup Series race at Nashville Superspeedway.

Following the one and only off weekend of the 2022 season, the NASCAR Cup Series is set to return to action tomorrow afternoon with the Ally 400 at Nashville Superspeedway, the 17th of 36 races on the schedule.

This weekend marks the series’ second trip to the four-turn, 1.333-mile (2.145-kilometer) Nashville Superspeedway oval in Lebanon, Tennessee. Hendrick Motorsports’ Kyle Larson won last year’s inaugural Cup Series race at the track.

Drivers are split up into two groups for qualifying, based on the results of the previous race at Sonoma Raceway two Sundays ago, and the order of both groups is determined by the formula which had previously been used to set the starting lineup (in the absence of qualifying).

Each driver is set to make a single-lap qualifying attempt in the opening round of qualifying, and the top five drivers in each group advance to the second round.

In the second round, the remaining 10 drivers each make another single-lap qualifying attempt, and those speeds set the top 10 in the starting lineup.

The rest of the 36-car lineup is set based on qualifying speeds from the first round, irrespective of the group in which they were set.

Who will take the pole position for Sunday’s 300-lap race? Follow along with our live qualifying updates for the Ally 400.
