NASCAR: Possible Camping World replacement emerges
By Asher Fair
With Camping World out after 14 seasons, who will replace them as the title sponsor of the NASCAR Truck Series for the 2023 season?
After several months of speculation that it could happen, Camping World recently confirmed that they will not be returning as the title sponsor of the NASCAR Truck Series for the 2023 season.
This confirmation ends a 14-year run for Camping World as the title sponsor of the Truck Series, though the official name of the series was the Gander Outdoors Truck Series in 2019 and the Gander RV & Outdoors Truck Series in 2020.
The series was known as the Camping World Truck Series from 2009 through 2018, and that name returned in 2021 and stuck for 2022.
When Camping World arrived as the title sponsor of NASCAR’s third highest level 13 years ago, they replaced longtime title sponsor Craftsman in doing so.
Craftsman had sponsored the Truck Series from its inception in 1995, when the series was known as the NASCAR SuperTruck Series presented by Craftsman. The company took over as the official title sponsor in 1996, and from 1996 to 2008, the series was known as the Craftsman Truck Series.
And now Craftsman, after a decade and a half, could be in line to repay the favor and replace Camping World.
Sports Business Journal‘s Adam Stern has reported that the tools brand, which has continued to serve as a sponsor for several drivers and teams since its departure as Truck Series title sponsor, is believed to be the leading candidate to sign a title sponsorship deal with the series for 2023.

Should NASCAR indeed be “well down the line” with a potential replacement, as Stern reports, and should that replacement truly be Craftsman, then it seems more than likely that the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series will be making a return in 2023 and that the Truck Series won’t technically see the addition of a third different title sponsor for its 29th season.
