IndyCar driver Conor Daly is set to make his NASCAR Cup Series debut in Sunday afternoon’s race at the Charlotte Motor Speedway Roval.
This Sunday afternoon’s NASCAR Cup Series playoff race at the Charlotte Motor Speedway Roval is set to see the return of TMT (The Money Team) Racing, the team owned by legendary former professional boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr.
Set to drive the #50 Chevrolet for TMT Racing in this 109-lap Bank of America Roval 400 at the 17-turn, 2.28-mile (3.669-kilometer) Concord, North Carolina track is IndyCar driver Conor Daly.
Daly, who is set to compete with sponsorship from his primary IndyCar sponsor, BitNile Holdings, has never before competed in a Cup Series race.
The full-time driver of Ed Carpenter Racing’s #20 Chevrolet does have three career NASCAR starts under his belt in the lower two national series.
Daly made his NASCAR debut at Road America behind the wheel of the #6 Ford for Roush Fenway Racing in the 2018 Xfinity Series season. A suspension issue knocked him out of the race, and he was credited with a 31st place finish.
He has since made two Truck Series starts. In 2020, he made his series debut with Niece Motorsports behind the wheel of the #42 Chevrolet at Las Vegas Motor Speedway and finished in 18th place. In 2021, he returned to the track with the same team behind the wheel of the #44 Chevrolet, but he was knocked out in a crash and scored in 40th.
As for TMT Racing, they also made their Cup Series debut this year, following several years of rumors and buildup.
Kaz Grala has driven the #50 Chevrolet in all three of its starts so far. He finished in 26th place in the season-opening Daytona 500 at Daytona International Speedway, 25th at Circuit of the America, and 23rd at Charlotte Motor Speedway.
Sunday afternoon’s Bank of America Roval 400 is set to be broadcast live on NBC from the Charlotte Motor Speedway Roval beginning at 2:00 p.m. ET. Begin a free trial of FuboTV today and don’t miss it!
