Much of the 2023 NASCAR Cup Series driver lineup has been solidified, but there are still a few openings. Here are the top remaining free agents.

Following a silly season full of chaos and unexpected moves, the 2023 NASCAR Cup Series driver lineup is all but set.

There are just three teams which still need to name drivers for next year, and just five of 36 chartered entries remain without confirmed drivers.

Here are the top three drivers who don’t yet have deals announced for 2023.

Top NASCAR free agents for 2023: No. 3 – Cody Ware

Cody Ware will more than likely be back with his father’s team, Rick Ware Racing, in 2023 after driving the #51 Ford full-time for the first time in 2022. He missed just one of the season’s 36 races due to injury.

The 27-year-old Greensboro, North Carolina native entered the 2022 season with just one top 20 finish in 55 starts. In 2022, he finished in the top 20 five times, and he recorded a new career-high finish of sixth place in the regular season finale at Daytona International Speedway.

His progression flew somewhat under the radar. While superspeedway races have always been considered wild card races, three of Ware’s other four top 20 finishes came in non-superspeedway races at Darlington Raceway, Charlotte Motor Speedway, and Bristol Motor Speedway.
